2010-01-01, DCMI wishes everybody a very good New Year. This year, 2010, marks the fifteenth anniversary of the very first meeting, DC-1, that took place in March 1995 at OCLC in Dublin, Ohio. It also is ten years ago this year that the first official recognition by a formal standards organization occurred with the adoption of the Dublin Core Metadata Element Set as CEN Workshop Agreement CWA 13874 in March 2000. At this year’s conference, DC-2010, to take place in Pittsburgh, USA, 20-22 October 2010, we will look back to these fifteen years as well as look forward to how Dublin Core metadata can continue to help global interoperability to grow in the future.
DC-2010 Call for Papers published
2009-12-21, The organizing committee for DC-2010, to be held 20-22 October 2010 in Pittsburgh, has issued the Call for Papers. The theme of the 2010 conference is “Making Metadata Work Harder: Celebrating 15 years of Dublin Core”. Beyond the conference theme, papers, reports and poster submissions are welcome on a wide range of metadata topics as listed in the Call. The call is open until 2 April 2010.
